The Trappe Family by Seamus O'Rourke

Sylvester Trappe fell off his garage roof five years ago and died. Every year since then his wife drags her three sons and one daughter up to the same rooftop to commemorate his death and some of his life. This play is about a family in the northwest of Ireland on a rooftop in 2007 looking out over the town and themselves. So much has changed, so much has not…
Seamus O'Rourke

Former Leitrim County Footballer Seamus, made his debut with the Corn Mill Theatre in 1989 as Larry in God’s Gentry. His versatility as an actor has seen him play such memorable parts as Barney the Banks in The Communication Cord, Junior in Conversations on a Homecoming and Jim in The Weir. He has directed many plays including A Handful of Stars, Cavalcaders, Dig and Down and of course The Stolen Child for which he received Best Director in the All-Ireland Drama Finals in Athlone in 2005. His writings include recitations, poems and plays. He wrote our last two Festival Plays Dig and Down which all made a big impact on the Festival Circuit and the All-Ireland Finals in 2006 and 2007 respectively.
