Hilarious and touching, the play of six women is set in a beauty parlour in Louisiana. Through four scenes spanning three years the staff and customers engage in small-town gossip but we see a deep strength and purposefulness emerge when Shelby – a diabetic – dies following a kidney transplant operation.
The Butt Drama Circle from Ballybofey, Co Donegal celebrated their 60th anniversary last year and has competed in many drama festivals over the years. As well as the festival play each year the BDC stages a pantomime, summer show for teenagers, and produce at least two other productions throughout the year and are the hosts of the Donegal Schools Drama Festival for Secondary and National’s schools in the North West.
