A quiet country practise is thrown into turmoil when a young junior doctor arrives to join the practice. In this light comedy, the elderly doctor in charge of the practice gets himself entwined in a murder investigation and enlists the support of the easy-going young sergeant to keep him from being implicated.

Born in 1933 in Cork and educated there, Cyril Daly practised as a doctor in Dublin. He wrote in his spare time contributing many articles to The Medical Times among other publications. His one play was A Matter of Practice (1964).
