Freebirds
The Freebird’s film is about a group of friends from county Longford who happen to love motorcycles. The film was the result of a collaborative project between twelve male members of the Freebird’s motorcycle club, artist Brigid Mulligan and cinematographer Bruno Pierucci. Freebird’s gives you a glimpse into the unseen side of Irish bikers in a rural community. By looking back through a journey of lifelong friendships the club members explore what being a biker means to them. The film shares intimate perspectives on life and shared experiences of loss. In the last twenty years this motorcycle club has lost three of their members on the road. The film not only pays tribute to past members but also brings you on a journey of lived experiences of friendship and the utter shock of losing friends so young. The film shares how important community has been for the group in gaining strength to accept loss. Music on the night by 'Lazarus Brother'.
